Holiday Inn Express Canterbury by IHG

The location is right on a highway next to gas station with a small store. 10 minutes drive to Canterbury city center. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Typical breakfast included. The chef is very helpful too and would do any special requests. They use halal meats, too. Spacious rooms and good bathrooms.

Excellent service from the staff, More than happy to cater to those in the hotel. Arrived in time for an Indian night for a wonderful spread of Starters, Mains and desserts, I was especially pleased with the Payasaam and Gulabjam that was served. Breakfast is a fairly standard but excellent quality buffet of hot and continental options.

A very comfortable room, clean and modern. The hotel is directly next to a kind of highway outside of Canterbury behind a gas station. That's convenient for those (like us) who are just passing through and need a place to stay overnight. Despite the vicinity of the road, the rooms are quiet. There was a wonderful Indian food All-you-can-eat-buffet that day, reasonably priced and excellent quality. A very good breakfast buffet was included in the price. The only thing that ruined the price for us was the unusually high extra charge for the dogs. We've honestly never paid more than here in over ten years of travelling with our animals. If you intend to stay for more than one night and travel with a dog, you should also know that there are no opportunities to walk them properly (despite the nearby woods). For one night that's not a problem though.

The staff are outstanding. The level of service better than a 5 star hotel. Each guest is welcomed with generosity and kindness. The hotel is immaculately clean, nothing is too much effort. I had read previous reviews but couldn’t believe how good they were but they were no exaggeration. The manager is incredible he is out meeting guests with genuine pleasure. He used to run a hotel in Dubai, Holiday Inn are very lucky to have him. His whole staff share his ethos. I was given a quiet room and there was no motorway noise. It has good electric car charging points ,I needed to charge my electric car and they are only hotel in the area that have them. There is easy parking too.

The Hotel was easy to locate and only 3 miles from Canterbury City Centre. The staff were all lovely and made us very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good with a suitable choice of cooked and non cooked food. Evening meals were available if required with a licensed bar.
